Elmore County has more than its share of lovely parks. Gold Star Park in Wetumpka is only one outstanding example of the many parks that dot the entire country.

With Montgomery only about fourteen miles distant and Birmingham only a little over eighty miles away, you’re never far from all the amenities a larger city can offer.

Another bit of good news is that in Elmore County, the summer heat is unlikely to get above 90° and the winters are mild with an average low that remains above freezing. An average of 60˚ in the daytime makes winter days much more pleasant than in other parts of the country.
